Brad Griffin has served as CEO of Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, S.C., since May 1.
This is Mr. Griffin's first hospital CEO appointment. "My career path is to be a CEO of a hospital," Mr. Griffin told The Press and Standard. "All my mentors were CEOs, so I've always been fascinated by the job, so I thought one day I might have that opportunity."
Prior to joining CMC as CEO, Mr. Griffin served as COO of Ocala (Fla.) Health System. In that position, Mr. Griffin took the lead on several construction and renovation projects and also helped the system gain Provisional Level 2 Trauma Status. He has also served as COO of Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Ga., and associate administrator at Coliseum Health System in Macon, Ga.
Throughout his career, Mr. Griffin has become involved in the communities surrounding the organizations he served. In the past, he served as the finance chairman of the Heart of Florida Health Clinic and has been a board member for the Heart of Georgia United Way, the Macon Volunteer Clinic and the College of Central Florida Foundation.
Mr. Griffin earned a master's degree in health administration and business administration from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
