Bill Leaver became president and CEO of Iowa Health System in 2008. As president and CEO, Mr. Leaver leads an organization that brings in annual revenues of $2.8 billion. With 26 hospitals in metropolitan and rural communities and more than 200 physician clinics,,Mr. Leaver guides the fifth largest nondenominational health system in America. Through his leadership and broad management skills, he has earned a strong record of new program development while maintaining an operational focus that has improved outcomes and cost effectiveness.
Mr. Leaver has more than 35 years of experience as a healthcare executive, especially involving the management of integrated delivery networks. Prior to becoming CEO of Iowa Health System, he served as president and CEO of Trinity Regional Health System in Rock Island, Ill., for almost seven years. He also held several senior executive positions at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit.
Mr. Leaver is a member of multiple committees and boards, including The Greater Des Moines Committee, the Health Management Academy, the Iowa Business Council and the Illinois Hospital Association.
