Barbara Rossmann has served as president and CEO of Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals since January 2004. Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals is comprised of an acute-care hospital in Clinton Township, Mich., two specialty hospitals in Warren and Mt. Clemens, Mich., and numerous health centers, physician practices and outpatient facilities.
Ms. Rossmann joined the organization in 1999 as executive vice president and COO.
Prior to joining HFMH, Ms. Rossmann held leadership roles at Daughters of Charity Health System in Los Altos Hills, Calif., and Trinity Health in Livonia, Mich. She has also served as a captain in the United States Army Nurse Corps.
HFMH has received recognitions for excellence since Ms. Rossmann took the helm, including major awards for cardiovascular services. Truven Health Analytics, formerly Thompson Reuters, named Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals on its list of the nation's top cardiovascular hospitals in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Additionally, the Clinton Township hospital was awarded the American Heart Association's Gold Plus Award, the highest award available from the organization, in 2010 and 2011.
When she's not leading HFMH's more than 3,500 employees and 1,000 medical staff members, Ms. Rossmann donates her time to the local community. She is a board member for the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber, the Alliance for Advancing Nonprofit Healthcare, the Midwest Healthcare Executives Group & Associates, the Macomb Health Plan and the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Statewide Campus System. Beyond her board appointments, Ms. Rossmann has served as an alternate delegate to the American Health and Hospital Association's Regional Policy-Board 5, vice chair of the Southeast Michigan Red Cross board and as a member of the Michigan Hospital Association's Legislative Policy Panel.
Ms. Rossmann has a master's degree in nursing.
