Brian Floyd, RN, became president of Greenville, N.C.-based Vidant Medical Center on Oct. 1, 2014. At the helm of the 909-bed academic medical center, Mr. Floyd is responsible for the hospital's operations, the delivery of safe and efficient care and the provision of education programs for healthcare professionals.
With more than 20 years of healthcare experience, Mr. Floyd is committed to continually advancing the medical center's role in population health management. He champions the advancement of care delivery model efficiency to improve community health. Mr. Floyd is an active member of his local community and serves on several boards supporting healthcare and social policy development, such as the Vizient Central Atlantic Region, the North Carolina Institute of Medicine and the North Carolina Hospital Association.
As president, Mr. Floyd also leads the medical center's 7,000 employees. He serves on the senior executive team of the medical center's eight-hospital parent system, Greenville-based Vidant Health, which includes various ambulatory services and an expanding network of primary care physicians and specialists serving 29 counties in eastern North Carolina.
Mr. Floyd holds a Master of Business Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill's Keenan Flagler School of Business.
