The wireless electronic health record market is expected to reach $23.5 billion worldwide by 2018, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 16.1 percent, according to a report from BCC Research.
This market segment includes wireless patient monitoring EHR-compatible devices, wireless EHR software, EHR mobile technologies, apps and other specialty markets.
The growth will be spurred by both government incentives and the benefits of the technologies themselves, including the ability to collect data both in and outside of the hospital and maintain physician-patient connections remotely.
