The White House's Office of American Innovation will host an interoperability event Dec. 4, according to invitees who spoke to Politico's Morning eHealth newsletter.
President Donald Trump unveiled the Office of American Innovation in March 2017. President Trump's senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner serves as the director of the office, tasked with bringing together White House staff and business executives to recommend policies and plans to improve federal services.
In early 2018, Mr. Kushner highlighted health information exchange as a major area of focus at the White House, calling "citizen access to health records and interoperability a top priority."
The December event will "provide an opportunity to hear directly from senior administration officials and leading healthcare stakeholders on the significant policy and operational progress that has been made since our listening sessions earlier this year," according to the the event invitation cited by Politico.
"We would also like to gain the benefit of your perspective on the most effective next steps regarding these important issues," the invitation continued. Politico did not name the invitation recipients.
