The Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense have launched the Open Source Electronic Health Record Agent to serve as the central governing body of a new open source electronic health record community, according to a VA news release.
The Open Source Electronic Health Record Agent is an important step in the VA and Department of Defense's efforts to create a single EHR system for service members and veterans. OSEHRA will oversee the open source EHR users, developers and service providers that will implement, use and improve the EHR software.
The Informatics Application Group is leading the design of OSEHRA.
