Verizon Expands Healthcare Enabled Services Program

Verizon has announced it is expanding its secure cloud and data infrastructure by adding five additional data centers across the nation.

Verizon already has data storage centers in Miami and Culpeper, Va. The new data centers will be located in Richardson, Texas; Santa Clara, Calif.; Englewood, Colo.; Carteret, N.J.; and Elmsford, N.Y., according to the news release.

Verizon's Healthcare Enabled Services, including its cloud-based storage, meet HIPAA security requirements. Verizon also offers a business associate agreement for each of its healthcare services, as required by HIPAA.

"The expansion of the Healthcare Enabled Services program demonstrates Verizon's continuing commitment to provide secure IT infrastructure solutions to our healthcare clients who access and store sensitive patient data," said Rich Black, vice president of healthcare services at Verizon, in the news release.
