The United States Department of Agriculture has committed $8.6 million in grants for rural telehealth projects across the country.
The grants are part of a larger USDA Rural Development Distance Learning and Telemedicine initiative, which seeks to improve the delivery of healthcare and educational services in rural areas.
Sixty-five projects will receive grant money, 31 of which are healthcare related.
Monetary awards range from $50,000 to $500,000.
