The University of Missouri has received a $6.8 million grant from the Department of Health and Human Services to create the Missouri Health Information Technology Assistance Center, which would help physicians set up electronic medical records systems, according to a report in The Missourian.
One million dollars of the total grant will go toward education and outreach programs over the next two years. The remaining $5.8 million will go towards helping 1,200 providers establish EMR systems that meet HHS "meaningful use" standards, according to the report.
