The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City has joined forces with startup accelerator Techstars to support mHealth startups.
The startup companies in the Techstars program will focus on developing products to increase the accessibility to quality healthcare services at the upcoming Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator, which is powered by Techstars.
The Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator is a three-month program for startups who will receive guidance, mentorship and business development insight from healthcare experts at KU Medical Center. From March 9 through June 4, healthcare-focused startups will set up shop at the Spring Accelerator facility in Kansas City, Mo.
"We are excited to provide mentorship as mobile health is an important component of the future of healthcare in the state of Kansas along with the nation," said Michael Harmelink, CIO of KU Medical Center. "Innovation is a core component of our strategy, and this partnership will lead to better outcomes for the startups, KU Medical Center and patients."
