University Hospitals installs AI platform at 13 hospitals

Cleveland-based University Hospitals added a new artificial intelligence platform to 13 of its hospitals and dozens of outpatient locations.

The health system selected Aidoc's platform after using AI for several small projects across the system. After installing the Aidoc platform, University Hospitals will be able to integrate the workflows systemwide and immediately access critical patient information. The platform could lead to faster diagnosis and treatment for patients.

For example, Aidoc's technology can scam CTs for expected and unexpected findings and flag them for the care team, and then communicate the information across the care team for quicker treatment. The platform has 17 FDA-cleared AI algorithms for patient care triage, quantification and care coordination.

"Today's care delivery is incredibly complex with numerous moving parts," said Donna Plecha, MD, chair of radiology at University Hospitals. "Aidoc's AI technology assists our radiologists in evaluating various patient images, allowing our clinicians to access precise, actionable data quickly. The AI technology enables our care teams to be more accurate and efficient leading to even more exceptional care for our patients."
