Bridgeport, W.Va.-based United Hospital Center is transitioning the entire hospital's EHR systems onto a single Epic platform, reports The Exponent Telegram.
UHC currently operates on multiple electronic systems, Vice President of Nursing Stephanie Smart told The Exponent Telegram. The single EHR system will enable UHC to communicate with other facilities in the West Virginia (Morgantown) University Medicine network.
Patients will also have access to the MyWVUChart mobile app or online patient portal, which allows them to view their medical information and care.
The hospital is training almost 2,000 employees on the new system, which it plans to roll out Aug.1.
