Lubbock, Texas-based University Medical Center Health System has partnered with health IT giant Cerner to align and implement Cerner IT solutions across three venues.
Under the newly announced 10-year contract, Cerner will work with UMC to integrate its EHR, clinical solutions and clinical IT teams at UMC, Texas Tech Physicians of Lubbock and UMC Physicians Network Services.
More specifically, Cerner and UMC will implement the EHR, automate additional clinical workflows and create a single communications platform to be used by all three organizations.
"We see Cerner as a partner that is dedicated to helping us achieve the outcomes we strive for; quality, safety and continuity of care," said Bill Eubanks, CIO and senior vice president of UMC. "Today's healthcare requires separate organizations to work closely as a team….With Cerner, our providers are better able to serve patients across all three entities."
