University California, Los Angeles has established the Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences, an interdisciplinary research institute focused on big data analytics and modeling tools.
The goal of the lab is to "leverage the tremendous power of knowledge-based computational modeling to transform research and education in biological, biomedical and health sciences," according to a letter announcing the establishment of the lab.
