Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health has partnered with DispatchHealth to deliver in-home urgent care through a program dubbed the Urgent Medical Care At-Home program.
DispatchHealth will operate two vehicles within a 25-mile radius of a UC Davis Medical Center and provide care for adult patients suffering from conditions such as congestive heart failure exacerbation, COPD exacerbation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, fever and more, according to an Aug. 31 press release from the health system.
Care will be provided by a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, as well as a trained medical technician.
An emergency department physician will also be available virtually, if needed, according to UC Davis.
The program will serve six to eight patients per day.
