The vast majority (89 percent) of tech workers deem transparent leadership — rather than catered lunches, nap rooms and other surface-level perks — a must-have quality in a potential employer, a new Indeed survey found.
The job site asked 1,000 tech workers about the qualities they value the most when vetting an organization. Here are the top nine:
1. Transparent leadership
2. Gives back to the community
3. Shares my values
4. Allows me to learn new skills
5. Mission I believe in
6. Workplace flexibility
7. Cutting-edge technologies
8. Job shadowing or internal transition possibilities
9. Allows me to express my political beliefs at work
