Fifty-four percent of CIOs, chief technology officers and chief information security officers say they expect their budgets to increase this year, while 43 percent say they plan to increase hiring, according to a survey of 100 of the tech leaders by investment firm Battery.
Here are the top eight roles the executives — from a variety of industries, including healthcare — say they plan to hire over the next 12 months, the study released Sept. 28 found:
1. Data engineer: 48 percent
2. Security engineer: 47 percent
3. DevOps engineer: 45 percent
4. Full stack developer: 39 percent
5. Data scientist: 33 percent
6. Back end developer: 17 percent
7. Front end developer: 14 percent
8. Site reliability engineer: 12 percent
