Physicians across the country have not adopted basic electronic health records at the same rate. The 10 states below had the highest percentage of EHR adoption among office-based physicians in 2012, according to a Bloomberg News report.

- Minnesota (66.7 percent)
- North Dakota (63.2 percent)
- Massachusetts (61.8 percent)
- Utah (60.8 percent)
- Iowa (54.9 percent)
- South Dakota (53.2 percent)
- Delaware (53.2 percent)
- Missouri (48.8 percent)
- Washington (48.7 percent)
The national average for EHR adoption in 2012 was 39.6 percent, according to the report.
