What kind of imaging technology are hospitals planning to purchase in the next year?
The following data is from peer360, which collected responses from 370 directors of radiology/imaging, CIOs, IT directors and others for a recent survey on hospitals' imaging purchase plans for 2015.
According to the peer360 data, nearly half of hospitals plan to purchase radiation dose monitoring systems. Another third will invest in speech recognition programs, while approximately one-fifth will purchase image sharing, vendor-neutral archive and PACS systems. Under 10 percent of hospitals will invest in enterprise imaging platforms, advanced visualization systems or digital X-rays.
When accounting for number of beds, smaller hospitals are more likely to look for speech recognition programs or PACS, while larger hospitals are looking to purchase advanced visualization systems or VNAs.
