Texas A&M, Dell Partner to Offer Online Health IT Courses for Physicians

Texas A&M Health Science Center and Dell, both based in Round Rock, Texas, have partnered to develop a health technology academy for healthcare professionals to enhance their health IT knowledge, according to a news release.

The collaborative effort will help providers not only increase their ability to use health IT effectively, but also aims to help them understand the value of health IT, according to the news release. The ultimate goal of the academy is to enhance the development and implementation of technologies as well as advance healthcare discovery and business innovation.

"The advances in healthcare technology today are driving improvements in patient outcomes and providing greater accessibility to quality care around the globe," said Sid Nair, vice president and general manager of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Dell, in the news release. "This new environment of information-driven healthcare requires an adequately prepared workforce and a pool of supporting talent across the entire spectrum of care delivery."
