Tennessee Launches Statewide Health Information Exchange Platform

A new health information exchange platform has been launched statewide in Tennessee, according to a Knoxville News Sentinel report.

The platform, Direct Technology, allows providers to exchange encrypted health information over an email-based system, according to the report.

Direct Technology is a collaboration between Tennessee's Office of eHealth Initiatives and healthcare nonprofit Qsource, and has already partnered with the East Tennessee Health Information Network to facilitate data exchange, according to the report.

Early adopters of Direct Technology will be eligible for $500 in incentive payments, according to the report.
