In its first year, Phoenix-based Maricopa Integrated Health System has reported a 77.8 percent return on investment from its telemedicine partnership, according to a report from MeMD, MIHS' telehealth provider.
MIHS' partnership with MeMD Telemedicine Solution offers telemedicine services to health system employees as part of their health plan. The partnership saved the health system more than $74,000 and expects to save even higher sums as the telemedicine field advances and progresses.
"It is helpful for our employees not to have to sit in an urgent care for many hours to get the help that they are already aware they need," said Mica Goldfeder, director of human resources at MIHS, in the report. "Being able to speak with a MeMD provider just to confirm their diagnosis and receive additional medical advice helps make this a good fit for us."
