Telehealth services — a possible cost-effective alternative to traditional, face-to-face consultations with physicians — are covered by some form of Medicaid reimbursements in 43 states and in Washington D.C.
Additionally, 19 states require private insurance plans to cover telehealth services and Arizona will join the list in 2015, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
