Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health has announced plans to launch a fully integrated inter-network health information exchange system, beginning this summer.
Sutter Health has partnered with eHealth company Orion Health to develop and implement the HIE which will allow healthcare providers to securely share clinical information between networks.
"An HIE system will allow us to securely exchange up-to-date patient information with Sutter Health clinicians as well as those not affiliated with our organization, providing us with complete, secure 360-degree views of patients' care and health histories, wherever and whenever it’s needed," said Chris Jaeger, MD, Sutter Health CMIO, in a news release.
