A survey by SK&A found an overall electronic health record adoption rate of 40.4 percent in physician offices, according to a company news release.
SK&A updated the report "Physician Office Usage of Electronic Health Records Software," which includes responses from 237,562 surveyed U.S. medical sites. Results showed that sites with more physicians had a higher EHR adoption rate than those with fewer physicians. For instance, offices with one practicing physician had 30.8 percent adoption, while offices with 26 or more physicians had 75.5 percent adoption.
The report found an increase in EHR adoption was also correlated with more exam rooms at each site and higher average daily patient volumes.
