Healthcare executives focused on information technology estimate that 9 percent, or $11 billion, can be saved over three years through the "IT as a Service" operational model, according to a survey conducted by MeriTalk.
The vast majority of the survey's CIO, CTO and CMIO respondents see innovation and technology as key to cost-saving, but more than half said they were unable to find the skilled staff needed to make the improvements and advancements.
Close to 94 percent said they have employed ITaaS, and see it as crucial to achieving IT goals while keeping costs down.
