The number one reason health IT employees would consider switching jobs is for better compensation, according to a survey administered by Healthcare IT Leaders, a health IT consulting and staffing firm.
Both full-time employees and consultants indicated higher pay as their top motive to switch jobs, at 74 percent and 58 percent, respectively.
After better compensation, 56 percent of full-time employees would consider switching jobs for better advancement opportunities, 44 percent for improved work/life balance, 36 percent for more learning opportunities and 35 percent for better benefits.
Of the consultants, 49 percent indicated a desire for more advancement opportunities, 48 percent would consider switching jobs for more learning opportunities, 42 percent for better benefits and 40 percent for location issues (i.e., a different city or improved commute).
