Surescripts, a national health information exchange network, has announced the addition of 12 health systems, all running Epic software.
Epic's Care Everywhere interoperability platform allows these systems to be connected to the Surescripts network, which then allows the health systems to communicate with providers using other electronic health record systems.
The new additions include:
- Community Health Network (Indianapolis)
- Confluence Health (Wenatchee Valley, Wash.)
- Hattiesburg (Miss.) Clinic
- Kadlec Health System (Richland, Wash.)
- Legacy Health (Portland)
- Ochsner Health System (New Orleans)
- Providence Health & Services (Renton, Wash.)
- SLUCare (St. Louis)
- Swedish Medical Center (Seattle)
- UC San Diego Health System
- UCSF Medical Center (San Francisco
- Weill Cornell Medical College (New York City)
"With these participants, Surescripts will facilitate timely, secure, easy access to vital information, enhance collaboration among care team members, help reduce errors, increase efficiency, improve the quality of care and health outcomes and cut costs," said Harry Totonis, president and CEO of Surescripts, in a news release.
