Missouri Care, a MO HealthNet managed care plan, has notified 1,223 of its Medicaid participants that a software programming error led a subcontractor to mail some personal information to an incorrect address.
Missouri Care discovered the incident July 20, which impacted some Missouri Care Managed Care Program correspondence sent July 11 and July 13. The subcontractor, O'Neil Printing, has identified and corrected the programming error.
Patient names, dates of birth, MO HealthNet identification account number and Missouri Care member identification number may have been compromised. No medical or financial information was released.
There is no evidence this incident has led to any identity theft or wrongdoing, according to Missouri Care. The care plan is offering affected participants one year of free credit monitoring services, at no additional cost to taxpayers.
