The panel charged with developing the next set of quality measures for stage 2 of meaningful use is working to balance how advanced the measures will be with how feasible those measures are to achieve for healthcare providers, according to a Government Health IT news report.
Specifically, the panel has yet to decide whether it will follow the same structure for quality measures as it did for stage 1 of meaningful use, with the framework of core measures and menu measures.
Public comments on quality measures for stage 2, which were received by the Office of the National Coordinator until Dec. 31, still need to be parsed through. Meanwhile the ONC will also be working with various organizations to continue developing measures that would be used for stage 2 of meaningful use, according to the report.
