St. Rita's Hospital in Lima, Ohio, has become the first in the country to try Epic's MyChart Bedside, which allows patients to view information on their medical record, read educational information and securely message providers.
The mobile tool is available to patients either on their own device or a hospital-issued tablet. Patient response has been very positive, according to the hospital.
MyChart Beside helps with "things that are non-urgent, but make the patients stay better," Nursing Information Officer Paula Campbell said in the news release.
