Spartanburg (S.C.) Regional Hospital has notified thousands of patients of a possible data breach of their personal and medical information after a hospital laptop was stolen from a hospital employee's car in March, according to a WSPA news report.
Hospital officials said there is no reason to believe any of patients' medical or personal information has been misused. However, the laptop did contain sensitive information including but not limited to addresses and Social Security numbers, according to the news report.
