Pending the finalization of Cerner's acquisition of the Siemens Health Services team, John Glaser, CEO of Siemens Health Services, will become a senior vice president of Cerner.
In his new role, Mr. Glaser will focus on driving technology and product strategies, interoperability and developing government policy, he wrote in a Cerner blog post.
"I've dedicated my career to health IT. Delivering on its potential for the betterment of healthcare has been a singular focus for me and for [Siemens] Health Services. And, it's Cerner's singular focus as well," he wrote.
In August, Cerner announced it would acquire Siemens' health IT division for $1.3 billion. The transaction is expected to be finalized in first quarter of 2015.
