The average salary for a U.S. senior cybersecurity specialist was $118,887 in the first quarter of 2017, according to research by David Foote — chief analyst and co-founder of IT analyst firm Foote Partners — and reported by scmagazine.com.
Mr. Foote studied the average salaries of cybersecurity professionals across 65 U.S. cities to determine average industry salaries in the first quarter. He presented his findings at RiskSec Toronto June 12, scmagazine.com reports.
Here are four study insights.
1. The average salary for a non-senior U.S. cybersecurity specialist was $100,279.
2. Senior information security analysts earned, on average, $115,212. Non-senior information security analysts earned, on average, $92,179 — a difference of $23,033.
3. Senior security administrators were paid an average salary of $88,526, while non-senior administrators earned $75,847.
4. Security architects were paid an average salary of $123,009.
