Riverwood Healthcare Center in Aitkin, Minn., is in its first week of implementing an Epic EHR. The healthcare organization is using Excellian, which is Minneapolis-based Allina Health System's version of Epic, reports Mille Lacs Messenger.
The go-live began April 1. The organization is also adopting the MyChart patient portal.
"The decision to move to the new Excellian electronic medical record system is an investment in continuing to ensure we are consistently providing the safest and highest quality care to our patients," said Chad Copper, CEO of Riverwood. "The Excellian platform allows us to integrate both our hospital and clinic electronic records into a single, integrated system. Additionally, the ability to seamlessly share information with other health care providers with whom we partner will enhance patient care."
