Only a third of providers reported that their vendor is ready to provide emergency department information systems to help them attest for Stage 1 of meaningful use, according to a KLAS report.
The KLAS report, "EDIS 2011: Delivering on Great Expectations," assessed provider satisfaction with EDIS and their experience with EDIS vendors. The data showed that while more than 80 percent of providers plan to utilize their EDIS to help attest for Stage 1 of meaningful use, only one-third said their vendor is ready. Reported gaps in functionality impeding vendors' readiness include medication reconciliation, reporting and CPOE.
