Currently, 95 million Americans use their mobile phones to access health information or use healthcare-related tools, according to a report from Manhattan Research.
The current estimate is 27 percent higher than the 75 million projected to use mobile phones for health reasons in 2012. According to the report, 38 percent of smartphone users say their phone is essential for finding healthcare information.
The report found the patients with the following conditions are the most likely to look to their mobile phones for health information:
1. Cystic fibrosis
2. Growth hormone deficiency
3. Acne
4. ADD/ADHD
5. Hepatitis C
6. Migraine
7. Crohn's disease
8. Chronic kidney disease
9. Generalized anxiety disorder
10. Bipolar disorder
