RegionalCare, RelayHealth partner to enhance record-sharing

RegionalCare Hospital Partners is partnering with Emeryville, Calif.-based vendor RelayHealth to unify patient records across its systems.

The Brentwood, Tenn.-based health system, which operates nine rural hospitals and affiliated physician practices across several states, implemented RelayHealth's Connected Care solution that draws data from multiple vendors' EHR systems and consolidates it into a single patient record for review. RelayHealth has also provided the system with a patient portal so patients can access their own records, according to a news release.

The implementation took place over the course of nine months. RelayHealth, a part of health IT company McKesson's technology segment, is vendor neutral and software-as-as-system-based, allowing for faster implementation, according to the news release.

"Meeting meaningful use goals quickly was just the tip of the iceberg," said Ken Tarkoff, senior vice president and general manager of RelayHealth. "Our goal is to power the interoperability and patient engagement that will lead to improved outcomes and reduce costs, both of which are critical to long-term success under value-based care models."
