Renton, Wash.-based Providence opened a new facility in Hyderabad, India, to bolster its cybersecurity services and tools to assist physicians with managing paperwork, WHBL reported Feb. 26.
Providence had been using its existing Hyderabad center for operations like technology, human resources and finance. Currently, the facility employs 1,400 people and plans to partner with more hospitals, aiming to increase its workforce to 3,500 next year, according to Providence President and CEO Rod Hochman, MD.
Providence has already hired 70 individuals to offer services to U.S. healthcare firm Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth and is in discussions with other healthcare service providers.
The company did not disclose the investment and revenue details for the Hyderabad facility.
