Under a new agreement, EHR vendor Practice Fusion will integrate OPTIMIZERx's patient savings and support system to help boost patient medication adherence and lower the cost of prescriptions.
OPTIMIZERx's SampleMD technology provides coupons for co-pays and sample vouchers for prescriptions electronically sent through the Practice Fusion EHR.
OPTIMIZERx manages savings and support programs on behalf of more than 20 pharmaceutical companies, according to David Harrell, CEO of OPTIMIZERx.
"Half of all patients don't properly take their prescription medications," said Ryan Howard, founder and CEO of Practice Fusion. "This integration will better help us empower our providers to aid them in improving patients' access and adherence to medications that have the potential to save lives."
