The ability to access EHRs from smartphones or other mobile devices is associated with higher physician EHR satisfaction, according to a report from Software Advice.
Currently, about 10 percent of physicians access EHRs on their smartphone and about 17 percent use a tablet, according to the survey of close to 600 physicians.
However, mobile users reported higher overall satisfaction with their EHR system. About 60 percent of mobile users said they are "very satisfied" with their EHR, compared with less than 30 percent of non-mobile users.
Additionally, mobile users were more likely to say learning the EHR system was not challenging (61 percent to 42 percent) and less likely to report problems with EHR-related productivity declines (73 percent to 42 percent).
