Royal Philips has entered a partnership with Onelife Health, a German digital health startup, to develop mother and early child care solutions.
The partnership — which includes Philips acquiring a minority interest in Onelife Health — will initially focus on developing Onelife's Femisphere app, a health guidance tool for women to use throughout pregnancy and a child's first year of life.
The app enables expectant mothers to monitor vital signs, sleep quality and mood in an effort to identify potential risks and complications at an early stage. Femisphere users can also electronically share this data with medical professionals to encourage early intervention.
Onelife Health will complement Philips uGrow, a tool which captures data from connected devices such as smart baby monitors and ear thermometers to provide new parents with personalized feedback.
