DreamIt Health, a health IT accelerator run by Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine, Independence Blue Cross and DreamIt Ventures, has selected its next class of nine startups.
The selected companies will receive $50,000 in seed capital, coaching and instruction, office space and introductions to large healthcare organizations.
"We look forward to continuing our role in driving valuable advances in health care delivery through this program," said Ralph Muller, CEO of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, in the news release. "We remain steadfast in our commitment to sharing our expertise and working with our partners to build on this initiative's early successes."
The selected companies include:
· BioBots (Low-cost 3-D printers for biological materials)
· Drop Diagnostics (Detecting disease-revealing proteins using carbon nanotubes and microfluidics)
· FlexiSched (Data-based patient scheduling system)
· NarrativeDx (Big data analysis of patient feedback)
· RegDesk (A marketplace for matching biotech and device companies with experts in regulatory affairs)
· Ristcall (Updating the call button with a wearable for inpatients to communicate on-demand with nursing staff.
· Tissue Analytics (Remote wound healing through image analysis of mobile-generated photos)
· TowerView Health- ("Smart" pill boxes to improve medication adherence)
· TrueClaim (Tools to reduce upcoding and healthcare fraud)
