A woman has filed a lawsuit against her plastic surgeon alleging he posted "before and after" pictures of her facial reconstruction surgery online without her consent, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
The suit accuses Robert Walton, MD, of posting the photos on the website for his new surgery center Plastic Surgery Chicago in 2013, almost a decade after the photos were taken.
The former patient is suing Dr. Walton and Plastic Surgery Chicago for violating HIPAA by not acquiring written consent before disclosing protected health information and using it for commercial purposes, according to the report.
