Leaf Healthcare, provider of a wearable patient monitoring system, created a clinical advisory board.
The board members include Tracey Yap, PhD, RN, and Susan Kennerly, PhD, RN. Dr. Yap is an associate professor at Durham, N.C.-based Duke University School of Nursing and a senior fellow in the Duke Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development. She is a board member of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel.
Dr. Kennerly is a professor in the nursing science department at the East Carolina University College of Nursing in Greenville, N.C. She is certified in wound care.
Leaf Healthcare's system aims to prevent pressure injuries by electronically monitoring bed-or chair-bound patients' mobility and documenting their progress. The system notifies nursing staff when a patient needs to be repositioned.
Drs. Yap and Kennerly will "provide valuable guidance to help us develop technology that provides the most benefit for patients and their providers," said Leaf Healthcare CEO and Co-founder Barrett Larson.
