Chicago-based Outcome Health, a health IT provider, plans to lay off a number of employees, just days after announcing it would hire an additional 2,000 workers over the next five years, reports the Chicago Tribune.
The company did not specify how many employees would be cut but disclosed that layoffs would affect both its Chicago and New York City offices. It plans to shift toward technology, automation and process improvement.
Despite the layoffs, Outcome added other jobs this quarter and continues to recruit for other positions, noting 14 new employees will start within the next two weeks, according to a statement reported in the Chicago Tribune.
