OSU Wexner Medical Center, Mount Carmel Health System Join Ohio's Statewide HIE

Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center and Mount Carmel Health System, both in Columbus, have joined CliniSync, Ohio's statewide health information exchange.

CliniSync has more than 100 participating hospitals throughout the state.

"Currently, we share electronic health records with other facilities that use the same system we do," said Phyllis Teater, CIO of Wexner, in a news release. "This partnership opens the gate, allowing us to directly communicate with additional hospitals and physician offices that use different systems, and that will improve patient care."

Claus von Zychlin, president and CEO of Mount Carmel Health System, said "Joining this partnership will allow our physicians expanded access to important medical information," in a news release. "Our goal is to streamline the delivery of critical information between providers to improve patient care through increased communication."
