Members of LifeWise Health Plan of Oregon will be covered for telehealth services starting Jan. 1, according to a Portland Business Journal report.
LifeWise Health Plan covers approximately 52,000 members, and all of them will have access to video consultations in the new year.
Members will receive the same benefits as if the consultation were done in person, including paying any copay or deductible that might be applicable on their plan design, according to the report.
There are two channels to access telehealth services; either through the provider if the physician has those capabilities or through Teledoc, a third party vendor that staffs board-certified physicians.
"Our virtual care offering will allow us to meet our member where they are and also make it simple for them to get the care they need, said Rich Maturi, senior vice president of LifeWise's Health Care Delivery System.
