Optum has recently made headlines as it inked two hospital partnerships in a matter of days, gaining more than 1,400 employees.
Here are four recent healthcare moves by Optum as reported by Becker's Hospital Review since Nov. 15:
- Optum took over revenue cycle management and information technology operations of Owensboro (Ky.) Health.
- Brewer, Maine-based Northern Light Health is working to transfer 1,400 of its employees to Optum. The office-based employees — including those in revenue cycle management, information systems, inpatient care management, analytics, project management and supply chain roles — will keep their jobs, although they will now be employees of Optum rather than Northern Light Health.
- Optum Labs, the innovation arm of UnitedHealth Group, opened a digital health research hub at New York City-based Cornell University.
- Home healthcare company DispatchHealth raised $330 million in a funding round led by Optum Ventures.
